- Install Virus software and keep it
updated and scan it weekly.
- Install a Hardware and/or a software
Firewall (Norton Firewall, McAfee Firewall
or go with a free program ZoneAlarm)
- Back up your system before you do any major
updates. (ex. installing a new program)
- Install and Run Spyware Software (Ad-Aware
SE).
- Make sure you have the latest updates and/or
patches for all the software you are running
especially the Operating System (Win
9x, 2000, XP).
- You can get Microsoft updates for the
operation system that you are running by logging
onto
